Garrett set up Shelbourne Development Group in the mid-1980’s and focused on loft conversions in Chicago, Illinois. Since then, Garrett has completed significant re-development projects across the globe. He continues to source unique real estate opportunities and deliver distinctive properties in established and emerging markets.
Garrett holds extensive personal real estate and business interests in Ireland, the UK, Belgium, France and the US. He is also a member of the Chicago Metropolitan Organizing Committee, a group dedicated to bringing the 2016 Olympic Summer Games to Chicago.
Prior to joining the company, Brian worked in Savills Hamilton Osborne King for two years in both the Industrial and Retail Departments, where he was involved in the acquisition and disposal of retail and industrial buildings and development land. He carried out valuations and development appraisals, and gave development advice to developer clients.
Brian has a degree in Property Economics and graduated from the Dublin Institute of Technology in May 2005.
Before joining the Group, Tom worked in the UK Valuation Office, Nelson Bakewell, Christie & Co. and Sherry Fitzgerald. In those roles, Tom gained an in depth understanding of the UK and Irish property markets.
Tom received a diploma in Property Economics from the Dublin Institute of Technology and a BSc. in Surveying from Trinity College, Dublin.
Patricia Hanson joined Shelbourne Development in March 2000 and is responsible for the sales and marketing in Ireland and internationally.
As the Shelbourne portfolio has expanded she has been increasingly involved in European developments plus marketing the Chicago Spire within Europe and the Middle East.
Prior to returning to Dublin and joining Shelbourne Development, Patricia has 15 years successful experience with the start up and marketing of privately owned entrepreneurial businesses within a wide variety of industries, in the US, UK and Germany.
Jack is currently responsible for the development and management of Cratloe Wood Student Village along with various other student and private residential developments <br /><br />
Jack holds a Degree in Hotel and Catering Management from Galway College.
Tomas previously had extensive experience with John Sisk & Son, one of Ireland's leading construction companies. Some of his projects included works on Limerick Regional Hospital and Johnson & Johnson.
Tomas graduated with honours and a degree in Civil Engineering from the National University of Ireland Galway in 1997.
Joe began his career as an auditor at a public accounting firm, Ernst & Young, where he gained experience in accounting and auditing primarily in the real estate industry. Subsequently, he worked as an internal auditor at Equity Office Properties where he gained experience in establishing and monitoring financial and operating internal controls; and later moved into a portfolio management role overseeing the operations, accounting, and financial reporting of Equity Office Properties parking facility portfolio.
Joe has a Bachelor of Arts in accounting from Michigan State University and is a Certified Public Accountant. He is currently pursuing his MBA from DePaul University.
Thea graduated from UCD with a BA (Honours) in Politics and Sociology and has a Higher Graduate Diploma in Business Studies from Smurfit Business College received in 2005.
Prior to joining the Group, Sarah worked with John Sisk & Son as Contracts Manager. Sarah worked on significant retail development projects including Dundrum Shopping Centre, The Pavilions, Liffey Valley and Blanchardstown Shopping Centres.
Sarah holds a degree in Civil Engineering from Trinity College, Dublin and diplomas in Construction Law and Financial Management.
Before joining the Group, Richard worked in Lisney Auctioneers and Estate Agents, where he focused on providing support to senior management in relation to advising on acquisition and disposal of commercial properties, valuations and development appraisals.
Richard holds a degree in Property Economics from the Dublin Institute of Technology.
Trained with KPMG and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2003, Antoinette has already gained experience in audit management across a broad range of clients.
Antoinette completed a Bachelor of Business Studies in Trinity College in 1999.
Prior to joining the Group, Emmet worked with Green Property, where he supported senior management in assessing property development and investment opportunities. Emmet also worked with KPMG and Andersen where he gained broad experience in corporate finance, audit management and business consultancy.
Emmet holds a Masters in Accounting from the Smurfit Business School in University College Dublin and is a Chartered Accountant.
Colin had previously worked as an independent developer and house builder in the Bordeaux region since moving there in 1990, acquiring valued knowledge and experience of the French contracting and property market.
Colin graduated in 1983 receiving an engineering diploma from the Dublin Institute of Technology and a Bsc in Engineering from Trinity College, Dublin
Alexandra holds an Honours Degree in Architecture from the London Metropolitan University.
Sophie is qualified from Ecole Supérieure de Communication in Antwerp, as well as the Royale Académie des Beaux-arts.
A licensed attorney for over 20 years, Stacey has a proven track record handling complicated urban infill real estate development resulting in the creation and close out of highly-successful, on-time projects.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Iowa and a Juris Doctor degree from DePaul University College of Law.
Mary Beth has a background in accounting, financial analysis, real estate development and asset management. She began her career as an analyst at a private equity firm, Ablum, Brown & Company where she gained experience in due diligence, structuring and financing transactions. Subsequently she provided financial analysis and reporting as part of the multi-family development group at Pritzker Residential; and later joined Pritzker Realty Group in a real estate investment advisory role where she gained broader experience across all real estate asset classes. Immediately prior to joining Shelbourne Mary Beth was the Director of Financial Analysis for Inland Retail Real Estate Trust, Inc.
Mary Beth has a Bachelor of Arts in economics and is a Certified Public Accountant.
Niall has over 12 years experience in the property market in Ireland and internationally. In his previous role with Treasury Holdings (Ireland), Niall was responsible for a significant mixed development portfolio with an end value of over €1.5bn. Prior to this, he was with the Altus Helyar (Canada) where he specialised in advisory services ranging from land acquisition, development through to disposal and property management, in the residential, commercial and industrial sectors.
Niall is a Chartered Surveyor.
In 1994, as Deputy Operations Director of MACE, the UK’s leading Project and Construction Management company, Jim launched the business into the airport construction sector through the award of major renovation projects at Heathrow and Gatwick Airports. He then moved to Asia as Managing Director of Schal Asia Pacific and was responsible for the delivery of commercial and Government projects with a total value of in excess of US$500M throughout the Asia Pacific region.
In 1998, Jim founded CMInternational and as Managing Director brought the business forward as Asia’s leading Project & Development Management Company. The company was responsible for developing HQ’s for Goldman Sachs and Lehman Brothers in Tokyo, and had clients EMC, American Express, IBM, and Disney Stores.
Jim joined Shelbourne Development in 2001 and became a fundamental catalyst in the successful completion of Moore Street Plaza. He has also headed up projects such as Belgard Square and 75 St Stephens Green in Ireland.
A Real Estate Paralegal for over 20 years, Sherry has had a diversified background in complex, multi-state commercial real estate transactions as well as residential developments of low-rise, mid-rise and high-rise development projects.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Human Services with a minor in Paralegal Studies from National Louis University.
Prior to joining Shelbourne, Peter specialized in real estate debt financing and joint venture equity investments for Capmark Finance (formerly GMAC Commercial Mortgage).
Peter is a graduate of DePaul University
Joseph Harmening joined the Group in 2007 as Director of Development. In his role, Joe is responsible for new acquisition and development.
As the former Chief of Infrastructure for the Mayor’s Office in the City of Chicago, and First Deputy Commissioner of the Department of General Services, he provided oversight and coordination of the City’s capital, operations and economic development programs. He also served as an officer of the Public Building Commission, the authority responsible for developing municipal projects throughout the City.
He holds an M.B.A. in Marketing, from St. Xavier University, Chicago and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from St. Mary’s University, Minnesota.
