Shelbourne purchased this former newspaper printing works in a prime Dublin city centre location from The Irish Times following a public auction in October 2000. The site was purchased with planning permission in place but was substantially reassessed and redesigned, before being redeveloped in the course of 2001 into a 4,533 sq.m. modern office building, incorporating the sympathetic refurbishment of an existing late 18th Century Georgian property. The redesign also included basement parking utilising a relatively innovative car ilft system. The building was successfully and profitably sold to the Irish Government in early 2002.
